Grandmaster Roy Kurban’s knowledge, abilities and credentials are recognized worldwide by a variety of accredited Taekwondo and Martial Arts organizations. He is widely respected and well-known in both the martial arts and business/law enforcement arenas. He has and continues to work closely with other prominent martial artists which includes, but is not limited to, individuals such as Grandmaster Won Chik Park, Grandmaster Jim Harrison, Grandmaster Chuck Norris, Grandmaster Mike Stone, Grandmaster Steve Fisher and many others who look to him, because of his tremendous individual character and professional excellence, for advice as well as personal friendship.

Grandmaster Roy Kurban’s professional resume also includes his service as an instructor for the United States Army and National Guard, Great Southwest Police Academy (Texas), and for U.S. Treasury and FBI agents. In 1982, he also established an accredited Taekwondo course for the University of Texas at Arlington Physical Education Program..

In addition to his outstanding career as a martial artist, Grandmaster Roy Kurban worked as a police officer for three years serving on a high risk, forced entry tactical team, for the City of Dalworthington Gardens, Texas. Thereafter, in 1990 he was elected to the office of Precinct 7 Justice of the Peace Court for Tarrant County, Texas where he held for over 16 years until his retirement from the bench, in December of 2006. During his tenure as a judge, he handled between 7,000-8,000 civil and criminal cases annually. Additionally, Judge Kurban served as the Chairman of the Academic Advisory Board for Tarrant County College’s Criminal Justice Department. Furthermore, Judge Kurban also taught courses specifically focusing upon administrative law hearings, family violence issues, and emergency protective orders for judges under the aegis of the Justice Training Center at Southwest Texas University. Finally, Judge Kurban also served three years on the Advisory Board for Texas Association of Counties’ Policy Analysis Group.

It is abundantly clear that Grandmaster Roy Kurban brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his seminars. From his varied background including teaching owning a martial arts academy and teaching martial arts for over 40 years; competing in national and international karate tournaments for five decades; involvement in the military and paramilitary (police) organizations; teaching and training state and federal law enforcement officials; and, his time spent as a judge ruling over cases for more than 16 years, he has acquired the unique knowledge and ability to motivate and teach in a manner that is unparalleled.
